Governance Polls: Collateral Onboarding, Oracles, and more

The MakerDAO Governance Facilitator has placed Governance Polls into the voting system on behalf of the MakerDAO mandated actors. These are polls to implement greenlight polls for collateral types, oracles, and more.

Poll: Add UNI-V2-DAI-USDC (UniswapV2 DAI-USDC LP Token) as a Collateral Type

The MakerDAO Governance Facilitator has placed a Governance Poll into the voting system on behalf of the MakerDAO mandated actors. This Governance Poll will be active for three days beginning on Monday, February 1 at 16:00 UTC.

This is a binary vote. In a binary vote, you may vote for a single option. You should vote for the option which you prefer. Alternatively, if you would accept either of the two options and have no preference between them, you should abstain.

Review

This poll allows the MakerDAO governance community to signal their support or opposition to adding UNI-V2-DAI-USDC (UniswapV2 DAI-USDC LP Token) as a collateral type in the Maker Protocol with the parameters below:

Liquidations for UNI-V2-DAI-USDC will be disabled as both the DAI and USDC Oracles will return a constant price of $1. For this reason, auction parameters have been omitted.

Outcomes

If the votes for the 'Yes' option exceed the votes for the 'No' option then the following actions will be taken:

  • UNI-V2-DAI-USDC (UniswapV2 DAI-USDC LP Token) will be onboarded in a future executive vote as the Smart Contracts domain team's schedule allows.
  • It is expected that this executive vote will take place within 30 days of this poll passing, absent external factors.
  • If the executive vote passes, then these changes will become active in the Maker Protocol after the GSM Pause Delay has expired.

If the votes for the 'No' option equal or exceed the votes for the 'Yes' option then no further action will be taken at this time.

Create Multiple Oracles for dYdX on Starkware

The Governance Facilitators have placed a Governance Poll into the voting system on behalf of the Oracle Domain Team. This Governance Poll will be active for three days beginning on Monday, February 1 at 16:00 UTC.

Note: This subproposal has been submitted under the informal weekly cycle rather than the MIP3 Governance Cycle due to inconsistencies between MIP10 and MIP3 and to avoid delaying progress in the oracles domain until MIP10 can be amended.

The community can vote in this poll to express support or opposition to creating multiple oracles that will be used by dYdX on Starkware. Below is a list of each oracle, which can also be found in MIP10c9-SP21:

DYdX does not require an oracle on the Ethereum network, and as such no medianizer and OSM smart contracts will be deployed on Ethereum as part of this subproposal.

Outcomes

If the votes for the 'Yes' option exceed the votes for the 'No' option then the following actions will be taken:

  • These oracles will be setup and become operational within 30 days of this poll passing, absent external factors.
  • No changes are required to be included in an executive vote as a result of this poll.

If the votes for the 'No' option equal or exceed the votes for the 'Yes' option then no further action will be taken at this time.

Poll: Investigate implementation of an ETH-C vault-type with a higher LR

The Governance Facilitators have placed a Governance Poll into the voting system on behalf of the Maker Community. This Governance Poll will be active for three days beginning on Monday, February 1 at 16:00 UTC.

This is a binary vote. In a binary vote, you may vote for a single option. You should vote for the option which you prefer. Alternatively, if you would accept either of the two options and have no preference between them, you should abstain.

Review

This poll asks whether an ETH-C vault type with a higher Liquidation Ratio should be prioritized for inclusion in the Maker Protocol by the domain teams.

Outcomes

Regardless of the winning option the following actions will be taken at the conclusion of this poll:

  • An ETH-C vault-type will be added to the Collateral Prioritisation Sheet by the Governance Facilitator(s).
  • This vault-type will be added with a 'greenlight score' calculated using the outcome of this poll using the formula Score = 'Yes' Votes - 'No' Votes
  • The Domain Teams will use the Collateral Prioritisation Sheet to direct their work on onboarding new vault-types.
